Transcription of Upper Record

sixty eight poles to a chesnut tree North fifteen degrees East sixty one poles to a pine North forty seven degrees East thirty four poles to a white oak North thirty degrees West Eleven poles to [?] oak in [Adams?] line: thence along the same South seventy six degrees east thirty poles to a Beach on the River thence down the same as it meanders to a Black Walnut tree on the North side: thence off East fifty two poles [?] a Branch to a Hickory: South forty nine degrees East ninety four poles to a black oak: South forty two degrees West twelve poles to a white oak on the River thence up the same as it meanders to the beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of land, with its appurtenances, to the said George Reives and his Heirs forever. In witness whereof, the said Thomas Jefferson Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand, and Caused the seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the first day of September in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and eighty and of the Commonwealth the fifth.
