Elijah P. Ivey moved to San Marcos some time between 1850 and 1870. He was buried in the San Marcos Cemetery, San Marcos, Hays Co., Texas.

His son, Paul Pressler Ivey was born in San Marcos and married Mabel Elizabeth Richardson, the daughter of Thomas John Edwards.
