The following obituary for Dr. Miranda America Davis was obtained from FindAGrave.com and is reported to have come from Ellensburg Dawn, April 23, 1907

Mrs. Maranda German died at the residence of her son, J. W. German in East Kittitas, 12 miles northeast of this city, Friday, Aril 19, 1907, at 12:30 p.m. after a lingering illness.

Mrs. German (nee Davis) was born in Anderson County, Tennessee, August 13, 1823. She, together with husband and children, came to Kittitas, October 20, 1884 and has resided here ever since. Dr. G. F. German, her husband, died May 23, 1902.

Mrs. German was the mother of five daughters: Elizabeth Pendergast of Atoka Indian Territory; Rachel Johnson of Bridgeport, Washington; Francis F. Prigmore and Maranda Gage, both of this valley; and Malisie Bushon of Childress, Texas; and two sons, J. W. German of this valley and Dr. Robert German of Kennedy, Indian Territory.

Mrs. German was loved and respected by all who knew her and was quite well known by all the pioneers. Rev. Thomson delivered the funeral discourse Sunday at 10 a.m. Burial at 2 p.m. in IOOF Cemetery. The Dawn extends sympathy to the bereaved.
