:Appears as head of household with her children Bishop, Clinton, Cicero, Ellen, Edgar, and Talmage, but not William or Katherine. Bishop's age is given as either 14 or 17 (probably 14), which contradicts what was previously recorded. The information we previously had comes from FamilySearch and matches a headstone in Sans Bois Cemetery. I think the FamilySearch info comes from that headstone and is incorrect. (ie. I think that Bishop Harris is a different Bishop Harris.) This would also affect Bishop's middle initial (came from headstone) and his parents' estimated marriage date (previously based on assumption that Bishop was the first child).

: A "Helen A. Cuson" is listed here as a niece in the LaBass family. I searched Lawrence County, and interestingly enough, this Helen was only 1 of 2 in the results. (The other was a Wilbanks. I got no results when searching for Cason. I thought all vowels were equivalent with soundex. Oh well.) The name matched so well that I checked it out and found that the record was in Reeds Creek, the very same town Permelia's husband is from. Is this Helen "Ann" Cason? What about the "F" in the death record below? (Not a huge problem, as initials are frequently messed up when transcribed from old records.) Where does the "Permelia" part come from?
:A "Helen A. Cason" is listed here as a 22 year old niece in the LaBass family. (The indexers apparently read the name as "Helen A. Cuson".) Further research has shown that our Helen Cason's mother Mary F. (Frost) Cason was the sister of Volumnia Anne (Frost) LaBass. (Mary F. Cason was apparently also the half-sister of her mother-in-law.)

:* Not finding Helen in this family, but suspect relation, I searched Seborn's male siblings for their children, but found nothing (though I couldn't find satisfactory information on all of them). However, I then began a search of Seborn's children's children and found via FamilySearch that Seborn's first son, Dennis William Cason married a Mary or Polly Frost (Frost... !Shock and Horror! :-o). They have one child listed as Helen A. Cason born in 1858. Dennis died before September 1865 and though his wife's death date is not given, this does much to explain what Helen is doing in the home of relatives. The only thing left to do now, I suppose, is to try to catch them all together in the 1860 census in Lawrence Arkansas. Of course, if this doesn't pan out then there's much to do, and it would be nice to find record of Helen's marriage to Thomas Harris and to connect Thomas to the LaBass family through Mr. LaBass's first wife to kind of tie things together. (This family's weirdly intermarried it appears.)

:** Wait a second... couldn't I have just searched for Helen Cason in Arkansas born 1858 and found her in this family? Sigh... yes, I could've. Maybe I did and ignored it. The record by itself doesn't have much to recommend itself as accurate. Only with the rest of the picture does the record seem likely to be correct.

Sans Bois Cemetery - There's a lot of family here.

Helen's line reads: Harris, Helen ; 10 Jan 1858 - 28 Sep 1947
The cemetery also has many of Helen's relatives and the headstone data fits the Helen that I have found in the 1910 census.
Haskell County Death Records
Death Records on the McCurtain, Haskell County, Oklahoma Genealogical Society's website.
They don't give many details on how or where they found the records, but they're supposed to be "local". The only name I could find that I recognized, was Helen's. Her line from the record read as follows: HARRIS, Helen , F , 28 Sept 1947 , Book 6 , 21
I presume this is the same Helen based on the matching death date. (For this reason I match it with the headstone source.) Helen is listed as Helen F. Harris. (I am therefore made a bit more curious where we get "Permelia Ann" from. It's not in any of my other sources.)
