She was a cook with the Coachella Valley Unified School District for 20 years. | |||
She was a member of the Women's Club, past president of the Women's Auxiliary for the American Legion, and was active in valley senior centers. Survivors include two sons, Richard Cox of Ohio and Ron Cox of Indio; a daughter, Cynthia Keelin of Orcutt; a sister, [[Dorotha Luella Heck|Dorotha Engle]] of Coachella; and 15 grandchildren. | |||

Mary Maxine Cox, 74, of Coachella died June 18, 1997 at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio.
She was born Jan. 5 1923, in Carthage Mo., to Luella Miller and John Heck.
She was a cook with the Coachella Valley Unified School District for 20 years.
She was a member of the Women's Club, past president of the Women's Auxiliary for the American Legion, and was active in valley senior centers. Survivors include two sons, Richard Cox of Ohio and Ron Cox of Indio; a daughter, Cynthia Keelin of Orcutt; a sister, Dorotha Engle of Coachella; and 15 grandchildren.
