Notes

Elder Moses Shoup then took charge and continued until the close of his life in 1880. Elder Shoup was born in Frederick County, Maryland Oct. 1, 1793. He came with his parents George and Charlotte Shoup to Greene County in 1805. He was married to Elizabeth Miller. His wife died Jan. 11, 1877. The church continued under the Shoup influence to this day. Daniel Shoup, a son of Bishop Shoup was long a decon and later became a minister in the Old Order Church.
