Mary Saunders married [[Elijah P. Ivey]]. Only two other sisters are known from other records - Melinda Saunders and Sarah J. Saunders. It is speculated then that this aunt Jane is the woman on the left and is Sarah J(ane) Saunders, and that the unnamed middle woman might be Melinda. Apparent ages seem to match this speculation. It would then seem that Sarah J Saunders never married, but that Malinda did (since the writer doesn't mention her, and she is apparently family, she is probably just so familiar as to not need noting. Also, since the others are called aunts, the writer would have to be a child of either Malinda, or the brother, Jacob) Source material gathered thus far does not, however, support the idea that Malinda was married, though the 1880 census is interesting in that it fails to note her marital status at all.

The back of this photo says:

"Aunt Jane(Saunders)     Aunt     Mrs. Mary Ivey"

It is presumed that the lady on the right is Mary Ann Saunders, and that the other two are her sisters (they look enough alike to be sisters).

Mary Saunders married Elijah P. Ivey.
