Deed pgs 295, 296 24 November 1779 CARR BAILEY and MARY TURNER of the county of Henry to DAVID CHADWELL of the county of Pittsylvania for the sum of 2400 (pounds?) Virginia money do convey land and all that pertains to it containing 40 acres more or less lying and being in the said county of Henry beginning at a beech on the south side of Smith River.
