Colleen Hartnett Cox, 74, our beloved mom, grandma, aunt, sister, and friend passed away Sun., May 3, 2009 at her home in Indio, Calif. She was born Feb. 2, 1935 in Huntington Park, Calif. to [[Family:Ted Jeremiah and Helen Elisabeth Hartnett|Ted Hartnett and Helen Klein]].
She married [[Howard Roscoe Cox|Howard R. Cox]] in 1954 and to this union was born three daughters, Kelly, Dede, and Sharon. She was employed for 35 years at Coachella Valley Water District. She rose from switchboard operator to director of personnel and thought of her fellow employees as family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her stepfather, Rulon Smith; her sisters, Arleen and Maureen Hartnett; and her Nephew H.B. Mason.
Colleen leaves to mourn her passing, three daughters, Kelly Wilkins (Dave), Deanna Grutz (Tom), and Sharon Leath; sisters, Deanna Hartnett and Lyla Stigall; brothers Ted Hartnett and Gar Smith; eleven grandchildren: Jessica, David, Courtney, Bret and Emily Wilkins, Jennifer, Casey, Mitchell and Beau Grutz, Vanessa and Jason Leath; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was devoted to her family and taught us by her example that family and relationships were what mattered most. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her and love her.

Colleen Hartnett Cox, 74, our beloved mom, grandma, aunt, sister, and friend passed away Sun., May 3, 2009 at her home in Indio, Calif. She was born Feb. 2, 1935 in Huntington Park, Calif. to Ted Hartnett and Helen Klein.
