This is Miss Edwards, the mother of Thomas John Edwards (husband of Mary Anne Jones).
Miss Edwards had her son out of wedlock and didn't name the father. As you see, he has her maiden name as a surname.
The family history story goes: She was a servant girl in the home of some royal families. It is believed that one of her employeers (or their son) is the father of her child. So we may have some royal blood in the family line, but cannot claim it.
This would be an interesting line to have some DNA testing done on. Unfortunately, we need a series of sons or daughters to test, and the line jumps back and forth for us.
The back of the photo only says: " Great Grandmother Edwards" ( I think my grandmother must have made these notes after I got her interested in family history - thank goodness, or we would have lost the names of who this folks were)
