A son of Marvin Luther Cox, using a test from FamilyTreeDNA in 2010, matched with a large number of lines in J-M172 (also known as J2). A test taken in 2017through 23andMe placed a son of Marvin Luther Cox in haplogroup [J-L70 https://www.yfull.com/tree/J-L70/] which is a subgroup of J-M172.
